learnkdb.com is run by Jeremy Lucid, who is responsible for the personal data described here. Questions or requests: jerlucid@gmail.com.
The short version: you can read everything on the site without giving any personal data. If you sign in, the site stores your name, email address and which practice questions you've completed. It never sees or stores a password.
If you sign in
You sign in with Google or GitHub. They confirm who you are and pass the site your name and email address. The site stores:
- your name and email address
- which practice questions you've marked as completed, and when
- when your account was created
This is used only to run your account and show your progress. It isn't used for marketing, and it isn't sold or shared with anyone. Your sign-in itself is covered by Google's or GitHub's own privacy policy. The legal basis is providing the service you asked for.
If you book a mock interview
Bookings are handled by Cal.com and payments by Stripe. When you book, you give them your name, email address and anything you add to the booking, and you pay Stripe directly. Jeremy sees your booking details and a record of the payment, but never your card details.
Booking and payment records are kept as long as needed to deliver the session, handle any refund, and meet tax and accounting obligations. The legal basis is the contract for the session, and those legal obligations.
Stored only in your browser
The site saves your light/dark theme choice and your quiz scores in your own browser (localStorage). They aren't sent to the site, and you can clear them by clearing your browser's site data.
Cookies
The site uses only the cookies needed for sign-in to work. There are no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics. The booking calendar on the interview page is provided by Cal.com, which may set its own cookies.
Server logs
Like most websites, the web server records each request it receives, including your IP address, the page requested and your browser type. These logs are used only to keep the site secure and working (a legitimate interest), and are deleted after 14 days.
Where your data is held
Account data and server logs are held on a server rented from OVHcloud in Europe. Cal.com, Stripe, Google and GitHub may process data outside the EU under their own safeguards.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your account and progress are kept until you ask for them to be deleted. Email jerlucid@gmail.com to:
- get a copy of the data held about you
- correct it
- delete your account and progress
Requests are dealt with within one month. If you're unhappy with how your data is handled, you can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
